I met Mattie a couple of years ago at one of the workshops I teach and instantly fell in love with her joyful spirit. When I got a call about a year later to shoot her wedding, I was absolutely thrilled. Mattie is the visionary behind Spark & Wildflower and creates stunning days for her clients. I knew her very own wedding would be gorgeous, and it certainly was! Nick and Mattie are a perfect match and it was a wonderful day full of love and celebrating. Congrats to the new Mr. & Mrs. Burke! Last month after photographing a northern California wedding we spent the day back in the bay area. A few years ago my husband and I lived in San Jose as we were traveling with his job. It was during this time that my dream for photography came to life and I launched my business so it made it extra special to return to the city and photograph it on film this time. I kept my camera packed away most of the day but took it out for a few snaps here and there. The day was damp and overcast, as it usually is, and I am in love with these pictures and the mood they evoke. This is a day in San Francisco. Enjoy!

I get so excited when I find new and wonderful places to photograph couples in love. Engagement sessions give me time to get to know my bride and groom, explore new landscapes and spend time capturing their personalities and love on camera. This lovely couple stepped out on a gorgeous (albeit chilly!) Michigan day in a little wooded patch of land that had just started blooming. Patrizia, lovingly referred to as Mucki (moo-key) wore a gorgeous rent the runway gown and looked like she had stepped straight out of a fairytale. The stunning bouquet by Shelby of the Day's Design added to the romance, and I am just smitten with these gorgeous, pastel, full of light images! Here are some of my very favorites!
